PROGRAM ANALYST - LLOYD A. FRY FOUNDATION
The Lloyd A. Fry Foundation is a private, independent foundation that supports nonprofit groups working to address persistent problems affecting urban Chicago with a focus on education, employment, health, and arts and culture in the city’s low-income communities. It awards $8 million in grants annually.
The Fry Foundation is seeking a Program Analyst to investigate and research topics of interest to the Foundation, including public high school reform, climate change, program evaluation, as well as other issues of interest which may arise. Working closely with program officers, the Program Analyst will conduct literature reviews, investigate trends in program areas, and analyze grant portfolios. The Program Analyst also will work on special projects, such as the Foundation’s annual report and meetings of grantees.
The Program Analyst will have an opportunity to work with program officers in the review of grant proposals, conducting site visits, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of proposals, and writing grant recommendations and other reports. The ideal candidate is energetic and inquisitive, takes initiative, pays close attention to detail and is able to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Advanced degree or two or more years of work experience is preferred;
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities while managing time effectively;
- Excellent analytic and research skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- A demonstrated interest in issues of concern to the Chicago nonprofit community.
