Associate Program Officer, Div on Earth & Life Studies - Board on Agriculture and Natural Resources (BANR)

The Associate Program Officer under the general oversight and guidance of the Board Director or Program Officer develops and manages studies and projects of minimal or moderate complexity related to the fields of agriculture, the food and fiber system, and natural resources. Provides support in ensuring the project meets its stated objectives. With input from senior staff, coordinates and administers all aspects of the committee process, including the development of project strategy and budget, the recruitment of committee members, the organization of committee meetings and workshops, and report preparation. Communicates and coordinates with committee members and external contacts and provides support to committee in all aspects of its work. Facilitates the flow of information among committee members, consultants, sponsors, and staff. Oversees meeting logistics, prepares written summaries, identifies and gathers research materials for the committee. Synthesizes and edits research findings and technical data, and provides support to committees in all aspects of report writing. With oversight of senior staff, edits report drafts, facilitates response to review, and oversees report publication and dissemination. Under general guidance from an experienced responsible staff officer, oversees project budgets and schedules, and assigns tasks and provides guidance and feedback to staff. Assists senior staff in the development of new projects.
