Planner III: Madison County Planning and Development
The Madison County Planning and Development Department has an opening for a Planner III. The chosen candidate will assist the County Planning and Development Director and will have responsibilities supporting and staffing the Madison County Stormwater Commission by developing new programs, reports, meeting materials and plans. They will prepare educational materials and act as an adjunct Stormwater liaison to various local, state and federal agencies. The position will also support the Zoning Board of Appeals and Madison County Plan Commission and will provide staff and analytical advisory reports regarding land use and development cases to County decision-makers. The position will serve as County liaison to the various planning partner projects underway. This position requires excellent written and research analytical skills, understanding demographic, economic and other data; knowledge and principles of urban and regional planning; knowledge and understanding of information management systems including GIS and other software programs; summarize information from maps, graphs, reports and prepares summary reports and displays to illustrate concepts and projects. This position will also assist in drafting various County development regulations and attend public meetings and functions as required. The position requires a Masters Degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration or related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience or a Bachelors Degree and six years of related experience. Salary starts at $43K with excellent benefits package. Madison County residency required within 6 mos.
