National Parks Conservation Assn. (NPCA) seeks Senior Program Coordinator for new Midwest Regional Office NPCA recently opened a Midwest Regional office in Chicago. They are currently developing program strategies to address park protection for the National Park System in a 10-state area. The Senior Program Coordinator works with the Regional Director on the development and implementation of park protection programs, which may involve engaging members of the public, Congress, and allied organizations.
The Senior Program Coordinator plays a key role in developing new program areas for the parks of the region. Current programs and initiatives include Great Lakes restoration, invasive species issues at Great Lakes parks, protection of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (St. Louis Arch) from local control and development, and environmental threats to Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in building relationships throughout the Midwest with NGO allies, Congressional staff, and National Park Service staff.
